Is there a specific purpose for the handmade books that come in the starter kit? Is there a benefit to writing out the words or does it not matter if you make it on computer versus handmade with sharpie and gluing pictures?

I’m sure that @Mrs_Brown will have some additional input. Here is my understanding – when we first started the My Reading Books, we used strips of paper. When my son chose a picture (let’s say a DOG), then I would write on the strip of paper, “I SEE A DOG.” Then I would tear each word from the strip individually and glue them on the page one at a time. I think this method reinforces the learning around individual words and the words we say. When I was confident that my son knew that each word that I said corresponded to a written word, then I did the same thing but glued the whole sentence at one time instead of each word. Now, I write with a sharpie directly on the page. I will see if I have an early video in the FB group and tag you if I do.

My Reading Books are books you make together which serve sooooo many great purposes. The computer books are for high-interest books to read together.

Do a search on MY READINGIN BOOKS tons of info, Its my favorite and yeilds so much in return. @Jennine_Leo
